2009 Book Reviews: Book Nine

Sex, Lies and Handwriting by Michelle Dresbold

-Summary-

Michelle Dresbold is a leading handwriting analyst who has helped in many murder and suicide cases where there is handwriting evidence. In her book, Sex Lies and Handwriting, Dresbold shows how a single sentence can reveal more about a person’s state of mind and intent than what is written there. Her book explores cases from Jack the Ripper and Lizzie Borden to the writer of the Jon Benet Ramsey letter to murderers and swindlers in the twenty first century. Her book helps you identify cheaters, liars and downright nasty people in your everyday life.

-Review-

This is not the book for you if you are looking for a handwriting analysis that tells you you’re sweet but a little bit of a perfectionist. Dresbold’s book is 90% about the dark side of people’s handwriting. But that is what made it such a fascinating and hard to put down read. It’s no secret that humans are drawn to and horrified by murders and other tales of the unbelievable. Dresbold uses her extensive knowledge and a very readable and witty dialogue to explore cases of handwriting dating from olden days to modern day scoundrels. Her book will interest and chill you. I have a pretty active imagination and I have to admit that I spent the next few weeks after reading this book making sure none of my friends had any of the telltale signs of a murderer or stalker!

-Recommendations-

I’d recommend this book for lovers of murder mysteries, handwriting analysis and witty dialogue. Really, anyone over the age of fifteen should be able to enjoy this book.
